Twinmotion Essentials | Rendering & Visulaisation for Revit | Session 1

Exclusive to ARKANCE Advantage members - Part 1 of 2 total sessions. A virtual course, led by an Autodesk Certified Instructor, covering the essential knowledge required to use Twinmotion for rendering and visualisation in Revit projects.

Description

Twinmotion | Essentials - Rendering and Visualisation for Revit is a 2 session x 3.5 hours (Total: 7 Hours) virtual course. Led by an Autodesk Certified Instructor, this course is designed to help you elevate your projects through real-time visualisations, providing essential skills in creating engaging, lifelike environments for your models.

Throughout this course, you will learn how to use Twinmotion’s powerful tools to enhance your presentations and bring your architectural designs to life with striking visualisations. You will begin by exploring Twinmotion’s user interface, practising navigation and effective project management strategies to streamline your workflow. You will also work with various camera controls and views, allowing you to present your models from different angles, adding versatility to your visualisations. You will learn how to import 3D models from Revit, optimise model settings, and organise your project efficiently. As you progress, you will delve into setting up scenes with lighting and atmospheric effects, customising elements like sky and weather to create the right ambiance for your designs. Additionally, you will practise incorporating dynamic elements such as vegetation, people, and vehicles to create engaging, lifelike environments. You will learn how to animate these elements to further enhance the realism of your scenes, adding movement and depth. Finally, the course will cover how to export your projects in multiple formats, enabling collaboration and presentation. You will explore how to create high-quality images, panoramas, and videos, ensuring your work is presented professionally and resonates with stakeholders.

By the end of the course, you will have developed the essential skills to create dynamic animations, detailed renderings, and immersive environments using Twinmotion. These abilities will allow you to present your designs with clarity, ensuring that your ideas are communicated effectively to your audience.

Prerequisites

This course is delivered in multiple sessions, and participants are encouraged to attend them in the recommended order to support consistent learning.

To join the course, participants will need basic computer skills and a solid understanding of architectural design concepts. No prior experience with Twinmotion is required, but exploring the user interface beforehand is recommended.

Learning Outcomes

During this session, you will explore the following topics:

  • Module 1 – User Interface | Views: Explore Twinmotion’s user interface and its key tools. You will learn how to navigate projects efficiently, manipulate views, and use camera controls to explore your models from various perspectives. This module ensures that you can confidently move through your project, setting the foundation for creating visually compelling designs.
  • Module 2 – Import Models | Project Management: Learn how to import 3D models from Revit into Twinmotion, ensuring model compatibility and optimising import settings. Practise organising imported objects and applying textures to enhance the visual quality of your projects. This module equips you with the skills needed to manage complex models and streamline the rendering process.

Courseware

Before the course, you will receive a Course Pack containing training notes and/or files that need to be downloaded prior to joining the training. Please note that our training sessions are not recorded to maintain the privacy of all participants.

System Requirements

Participants joining this course virtually will need:

  • Revit 2025 installed on their computer (required). Please contact us if you need to purchase a software licence.
  • Twinmotion 2024.1 downloaded for free from Autodesk Portal (required). Please note that Twinmotion is version-specific and will not run with a different Revit version.
  • The latest Zoom version installed on their computer (required).
  • A stable internet connection with a minimum download speed of 10 Mbps (required).
  • A secondary screen to follow instructions shared by the course instructor during training, along with a mouse for easy software navigation (recommended).
  • A headset to ensure clear communication with the instructor, and preferably a microphone and webcam for interactive conversations (recommended).

We strongly recommend installing only one Twinmotion version on a machine to avoid broken links between applications. If training participants have previously installed another version of Twinmotion, they will need to uninstall it and install the right version. If after this action, Revit fails to send the file across to Twinmotion, they will need to uninstall and reinstall Revit 2025.

Please note that to run Twinmotion on a computer, the system and hardware must meet specific requirements set by the software developer. If a computer fails to meet these requirements, full participation in all hands-on exercises of the course may not be possible. Nonetheless, participants can still observe the instructor's screen and follow the course curriculum.
