Inventor Professional | Advanced - iFeatures, iParts, iMates, and iAssemblies
A private course, delivered virtually or in person, led by an Autodesk Certified Instructor, focusing on advanced skills in using Inventor Professional to streamline design workflows for product development projects.
Description
Inventor Professional | Advanced - iFeatures, iParts, iMates, and iAssemblies is a specialised half-day private course, which can be delivered either virtually or in person, designed for proficient Inventor users seeking to enhance their design efficiency through advanced features. Led by a Certified Autodesk Instructor, this course dives into iFeatures, iParts, iMates, and iAssemblies, equipping you with the essential skills to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance efficiency across your projects.
In this course, you will learn how to create and place reusable design elements using iFeatures, enabling you to standardise frequently used features and streamline repetitive tasks. You will also explore techniques for modifying iFeatures to maintain consistency and adaptability across projects. The course introduces iParts, which allow you to automate variations in parts such as sizes, materials, or mounting configurations by creating and managing a library of part options. This approach reduces the need to create separate unique parts, improving productivity and ensuring uniformity in your designs. You will also learn how to automate part constraints within assemblies using iMates, simplifying the placement of frequently used components and minimising manual input errors. By incorporating iMates into your workflow, you will enhance assembly efficiency and accuracy. Additionally, the course covers iAssemblies, guiding you in managing design variations by creating assemblies with multiple configurations, components, and materials. This includes managing part numbers and dynamically updating assemblies to reflect design changes, providing flexibility and control for complex projects. Practical exercises throughout the course ensure you can confidently apply these tools in real-world scenarios, enhancing both efficiency and precision in your design workflows.
By the end of the course, you will have a solid understanding of how effectively use iFeatures, iParts, iMates, and iAssemblies in your projects. These skills will help you optimise your workflows, reduce design time, and improve productivity when working on complex designs.
Learning Outcomes
During this course, you will explore the following topics:
- Module 1 – iFeature: Learn how to create and place reusable features within your designs using iFeatures. This module will guide you through the process of standardising frequently used design elements, ensuring that you can quickly apply them across multiple projects. You will also explore techniques for modifying existing iFeatures to maintain consistency and efficiency in your workflow, helping you streamline repetitive tasks and improve overall project output.
- Module 2 – iPart: Discover how to create parts with variations using iParts, enabling you to automate the creation of parts with different sizes, materials, or mounting configurations. This module will teach you how to build and manage an iParts library, reducing the need for creating numerous unique parts and significantly improving productivity across multiple projects. By utilising iParts, you will streamline your design process and ensure consistency throughout your work.
- Module 3 – iMate: Learn how to automate part constraints within assemblies using iMates. This module will guide you through the efficient placement of frequently used parts using single or multiple iMates, allowing you to simplify assembly tasks and minimise manual input errors. By incorporating iMates into your workflow, you will enhance assembly efficiency and improve accuracy, reducing time spent on manual adjustments.
- Module 4 – iAssembly: Explore how to use iAssemblies to efficiently manage design variations. Learn how to create assemblies with different configurations, components, and materials, capturing multiple design options within a single assembly model. You will also practise managing part numbers and dynamically updating assemblies to reflect design changes, ensuring flexibility and control throughout your design process.
Courseware
Before the course, you will receive a Course Pack containing training notes and/or files that need to be downloaded prior to joining the training.
Certification
ARKANCE, an Authorized Autodesk Training Center, delivers high-quality training for Autodesk software users. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an official ARKANCE Certificate of Completion, demonstrating their commitment to ongoing professional development.
Additionally, participants are encouraged to register their attendance with Autodesk Education to receive a Certificate of Completion from Autodesk. To obtain this certificate, participants must follow the steps provided in the confirmation email sent after registration and submit a post-training feedback survey within 60 days of completing the course.
Prerequisites
To join the course, participants must be confident in their use of Inventor Professional. It is recommended that individuals have a thorough understanding of all topics covered in the Essentials and Intermediate courses, along with at least one year of regular usage of Inventor Professional on projects. This foundational knowledge ensures full engagement with the advanced concepts and techniques presented in the course.
