Navisworks Manage | Essentials - Clash Detection and Timeliner
A private course, delivered virtually or in person, led by an Autodesk Certified Instructor, designed for professionals to develop foundational skills in Navisworks Manage for clash detection and project scheduling.
Description
Navisworks Manage | Essentials - Clash Detection and Timeliner is an intensive one-day private course, led by a Certified Autodesk Instructor, designed for professionals looking to develop a foundational understanding of Navisworks Manage. This course can be delivered either virtually or in person, and focuses on essential workflows for performing clash detection and creating 4D simulations using the Timeliner tool, facilitating effective project management and collaboration.
During the course, you will explore Navisworks’ interface and navigation techniques, learning how to initiate new projects and link various model types to ensure smooth integration of BIM data. You will develop skills in analysing model data, creating search and selection sets, and managing element appearances to enhance visualisation. As you progress, you will practise clash detection workflows, gaining the ability to identify and manage clashes effectively, preventing costly errors and ensuring project coordination. You will also learn how to generate detailed clash detection reports to maintain project accuracy and streamline communication among project teams. In addition, the course will cover how to create project walkthroughs, both simple and advanced, providing you with tools to improve project visualisation and communication with stakeholders. You will further enhance your skills by using the Timeliner tool to produce 4D simulations that integrate project timelines with model data, helping you track construction phases and overall project progress. These simulations, along with high-quality renders, will allow you to clearly communicate project updates and milestones to stakeholders, ensuring informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Upon completing the course, you will have gained a solid understanding of how to use Navisworks Manage for clash detection and project simulations. This foundational knowledge will enable you to improve project coordination and deliver more accurate project outcomes, preparing you for more advanced Navisworks functionalities.
Learning Outcomes
During this course, you will explore the following topics:
- Module 1 – User Interface | Navigation | Starting a Project | Model Linking: Explore the Navisworks interface and learn how to navigate it efficiently using a range of navigation tools. Practise setting up new projects and linking various model types to ensure accurate integration of BIM data. These skills will enable you to manage large and complex project models with confidence, improving overall project coordination and workflow efficiency.
- Module 2 – Model Data | Search & Selection Sets | Viewpoints | Element Appearance: Learn how to analyse and interpret BIM data to extract valuable project information, enabling more informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. Develop skills in creating and managing search and selection sets to control model visibility. Practise using viewpoints to navigate through your model efficiently and adjusting element appearances to enhance visualisation for better project communication.
- Module 3 – Clash Detection | Clash Management | Reporting: Gain a comprehensive understanding of clash detection workflows and their importance in ensuring project coordination and accuracy. Learn how to execute clash detection processes and manage clash results effectively, resolving issues early to prevent delays and costly design errors during construction. Practise generating clash detection reports to ensure project accuracy and prevent costly design oversights.
- Module 4 – Walkthroughs | Timeliner | Simulation | Renders: Create both simple and advanced project walkthroughs to improve visualisation and enhance stakeholder engagement. Learn how to use the Timeliner tool to produce 4D simulations, integrating project timelines with model data to track construction phases and overall progress. Practise generating high-quality renders and simulations that clearly depict project development, allowing you to communicate updates, timelines, and documentation effectively to stakeholders.
